There are no beaches in the vicinity of the city, but thousands of tourists visit it every year. They love how the picturesque town is located on top of steep hills by the sea. This sophisticated destination on Italy's southwest coast also features designer boutiques, lively bars and excellent restaurants.

Ravello is a town located high on a cliff near Amalfi. The beautiful Amalfi Coast has many attractions, but above all it offers incredible views of the sea and surrounding coastline.

Polignano a Mare is a beautiful town overlooking the Adriatic Sea. It is very popular because it is built on top of a cliff and has beautiful sea caves. What's even more popular around the world is the Seaside Restaurant, which can be found inside caves.
9. Cefalu
Mountain behind and magnificent coastline in front. As a coastal city, Cefalu has it all. Unlike the modern beach resorts and developed fishing villages that dot the Italian coastline, Cefalu had some grandeur in the past.
