Madonna di Campiglio, along with Cortina de Ampezzo, is a well-planned resort located in the center of a narrow mountain valley, with a frozen lake in the middle, where a very beautiful ice skating rink is organized.
Most of Madonna's buildings are various hotels and apartments. There are also several municipal buildings, a high school, several ski schools, numerous shops, restaurants, and a Congress Hall (appearing to be just a large hotel). The town's main street runs along the western shore of the lake and has several squares. The largest, which is the resort's main hangout, is named after Princess Sisi of Austria, who, along with Emperor Franz, visited Madonna several times in the late 19th century. She is also the star of the Habsburg Carnival held in February, famous for its balls and parades. There are many fine hotels, excellent restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife. Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most beautiful resorts in the Alps.

Restaurants on the mountain: There are quite a lot of them in every ski area...
The restaurant is self-service (most establishments on the slopes are). The bill: goulash soup - €8, sausages with chips - €7.50, beer - €3, mulled wine - €3.50—a meal for two is about €25. On a sunny day, the restaurant's deck offers divine views of the surrounding mountains, and there are plenty of sun loungers in front of the restaurant for relaxing and sunbathing.
